Clothing Swap!

  • The Carver Room at Old Salt Marketplace 5027 Northeast 42nd Avenue Portland, OR, 97218 United States (map)

We are having a Clothing Swap! But really it's even better than a clothing swap because we will have sewing machines and a couple of "guides" there who will be able to help you recreate your finds into perfectly fitted masterpieces that you want to wear every day.

So, it will work just like any clothing swap with your friends. You bring 1 garbage bag full of all your old clothes, stuff that doesn't fit, you don't like any more, gives you bad memories, whatever. We all dump our garbage bags out in a pile and sift through. One person's garbage is definitely someone else's treasure! Then, if something doesn't fit quite right, or is cute but needs altering one of the guides will help you figure out how to fix it! Sounds awesome, right?

Some details: Please limit yourself to bringing one garbage bag of clean, gently worn clothes (shoes, swimsuits and bras are ok, but no underwear please.) We will ask everyone for a $5 donation, so that we can provide sewing supplies, wine and snacks, but no one will be turned away. Please sign up below, as space is limited.
